I have a manual for Mikunis that is a "universal" type manual. Looking to see if anyone like a manual or rebuild guideor anything you can post or send me specifically for the stock carbs on my 75 Z1-B 900, gonna be taking them off the bike in a month or so, taking them apart, already have carb kits, rubber plugs for synch ports, and rubber seal for choke shaft. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions that I may need something else i.e. O-Rings for anything that are not normally included in carb kits? Think the stock carbs are 28's? Thanks Ed aka TennesseeZ |

I have never seen rubber plugs for the synch ports on the 75 28s. Can you post a picture of the carbs? |

Pete, these four rubber plugs (#92068-006) are a separate item to the carbs and fit on the "sync ports" in the rubber inlet manifold. It is good Idea to replace them, as they are hard to check for air leaks. Some guys clamp them with small clips. Ed Spangler, two recommendations... 2 x Washer, lock, C.... (#16054-005) These are the SS joining links, for Carbs 1&2 and 3&4 (resp). They usually become bent or broken through over-tightening during tuning 2 x Joint, fuel pipe... (#16046-002) These are the tee-piece that are the main fuel inlets. Don't get the Kawasaki originals. There are aluminium / brass tee-pieces available with o-rings, these are a better fit and don't leak! Just another point, never get the main throttle shaft (#16041-004) that connects all carbs, plated. It usually will rust as it is just ground steel. Just clean it up with fine emery, where rusted and when carbs are assembled give a coat of clear lacquer (this was a tip from the carb expert WG) RegardZ. Edited by GarnZ, Jan 21 2012, 08:14 PM.

Here in the U.S. a plug would be male and a cap would be female. Roy |
